The project
Between being and non-being.
MINORIA is an original philosophical and curatorial project conceived by Monika Turczyńska and developed through successive chapters in Venice and beyond.
Form begins before it can be named.
MINORIA examines the space in which an image, a material, a memory or an experience has not yet become fully defined, but is no longer absent. It is a field of emergence: a reality sensed before it is recognised.
The artworks do not illustrate a closed theory. They function as traces, thresholds and activations — material evidence of something that remains partly concealed. What matters is not only what appears, but the conditions that allow appearance to begin.
Words for what precedes visibility.
- preperceptio
- the state before recognition
- seismos
- an inner movement or tremor
- adumbratio
- the shadow of a form before the form
- lumen absconditum
- light that remains concealed
- texis
- the weaving of matter, time and meaning
- metaxia
- the space between defined states
One system. Many chapters.
Each exhibition becomes a distinct chapter of MINORIA. The artist, material and spatial situation change, while the central question remains: how does the not-yet-visible enter form without losing the trace of its own becoming?
